CHURCH OF ST. ONA IN VERPENA

Church

The church was built in 1775 Verpena count Valavičiaus initiative. In period 1901-1908, when the church was built in Kelmė, Verpena church prayed and Kelmė Catholics. Perhaps because so far it remained within the tradition of St. Anne forgiving of Kelmė church procession to travel two and a half kilometers to Verpena. Verpena’s wooden Church is a low-key folk architecture, rectangular, one tower, nave. Its shape is close Kelmė Evangelical Reformed Church. Only the latter is a brick.
